Welcome to Vannerfly, a social network for vanlife and camper enthusiasts managed by Real Easy SRL ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website (vannerfly.com) and our iOS mobile application (the "App"), together referred to as the "Services".

1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your username, email address, and password. Your password is stored securely using industry-standard hashing and is never stored in plain text.
  • Profile Information: You may optionally provide your first name, last name, date of birth, phone number, gender, and a short bio/summary.
  • Profile Photo: You may upload a profile picture from your device's photo library.
  • Posts and Content: Text, photos, and topics you share in the community feed.
  • Marketplace Listings: Product details including name, description, price, condition, photos, brand, vehicle specifications, and location (city and country) that you provide when creating offers.
  • Places: Information about campervan-friendly locations including name, description, type, amenities, pricing, city, country, GPS coordinates, and photos that you submit.
  • Messages: Content of messages you send to other users through our in-app messaging feature.
  • Reviews and Ratings: Star ratings and review text you leave for other users or places.
  • Event Submissions: Event details you submit including title, description, dates, venue, and location.
Information Collected Automatically
  • Website: Usage data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on our site, together with cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookies Policy for details.
  • iOS App: We store secure authentication tokens in your device's iOS Keychain to keep you signed in. These tokens are stored locally on your device and are not shared with third parties.
Information the iOS App Does NOT Collect
  • Precise Device Location: The App does not access your device's GPS or location services. All location information (city, country, coordinates) is manually entered by you.
  • Camera: The App does not access your device's camera directly. Photos are selected through Apple's system photo picker.
  • Contacts: The App does not access your contacts or address book.
  • Tracking: The App does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or any form of cross-app tracking.
  • Diagnostics: The App does not collect crash reports, performance data, or usage analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Display your profile to other community members.
  • Show your posts, marketplace listings, and places to other users.
  • Enable direct messaging between users.
  • Display reviews and ratings on user profiles and places.
  • Send you notifications about activity relevant to your account (likes, comments, messages).
  • Facilitate marketplace transactions by displaying seller contact information to interested buyers.
  • Send email notifications for unread messages (only if you have not read them within 5 minutes).
  • Analyze website usage and improve the Services.
  • Ensure the security of the Services and prevent fraud.
3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your information may be visible to other users in the following ways:

  • Public Profile: Your display name, username, avatar, bio, and join date are visible to other users.
  • Posts and Comments: Content you post is visible to all users and may also be discoverable through Internet search engines.
  • Marketplace Listings: Product details and your seller profile (name, username, email and phone if provided) are visible to potential buyers.
  • Places: Places you add are visible to all users along with your profile as the contributor.
  • Reviews: Your reviews and ratings are visible on the reviewed user's or place's page.
  • Messages: Messages are only visible to the participants of the conversation.

We may also share your information with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties that host our infrastructure, deliver email, process payments, or help us prevent fraud, acting on our behalf and under our instructions.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users or the public.
  • Change of Ownership: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy. This Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your personal information transferred to the new entity.
4. Data Storage and Security
  • Your data is stored on our servers hosted in Europe.
  • All communication between the Services and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
  • iOS authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.

We apply industry-standard safeguards, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

5. Cookies and Tracking

6. Data Retention
  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • When you delete your account, we perform a soft deletion: your account is deactivated, your personal information (name, email, username) is anonymized, and your password is made unusable. This process is irreversible.
  • Marketplace listings, posts, and other content you created may remain visible but will no longer be associated with your identity.
7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your profile page.
  • Update your personal information at any time through the Edit Profile feature.
  • Delete your account permanently through the Delete Account option (Profile menu > Delete Account in the iOS App, or the equivalent option in your account settings on the website). This requires password confirmation.
  • Export your data by contacting us at the email below.
  • Object to or restrict our processing of your personal information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where applicable.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Third-Party Services (iOS App)

The iOS App uses the following third-party libraries, which operate entirely on your device:

  • Kingfisher: Image downloading and caching. Images are cached locally on your device for performance. No data is sent to third parties.
  • KeychainAccess: Secure storage of authentication tokens in the iOS Keychain. All data remains on your device.

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are integrated into the iOS App.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page or within the App, or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
